The Importance of Hard Work
Sometimes I get lazy. I become complacent from time to time. I’m pretty sure this is common for most people so it’s all good…
What normally snaps me back into productive mode is good old fashioned hard work. Usually I get the kind of sweat pouring, heart pumping workout on the basketball court or by playing beach volleyball.
Today was a different story. A business partner and I had the opportunity to spend 5 hours (over the course of 2 days) cutting 4 ft high grass with a little 3.5hp lawnmower.
You wanna talk about a great workout for not only your arms, shoulders and back but that type of bushwackin’ is a total body workout. It is one of the best stress relievers I’ve had in a while and it sure is nice to get down and dirty from time to time.
Just like milk…it does a body good. (and the mind and the spirit)
Hard work and the accomplishment of a job well done makes me feel like such a bad a** while at the same time making me very thankful for the profession I’ve chosen.
I’ll tell you what. The 32 oz Gatorades John and I shared at the end of our project (He mowed for a few minutes hard and then we switched up. and back and forth till it was done) was the most satisfying Gatorade I’ve had in awhile.
Overcome an obstacle….
If there is something in your life you don’t have the courage or strength to tackle, just go do it. Get started and take that first step. You are stronger than you think and can handle more than even you know. Believe in yourself. I do.
